On that note, I thought I would share the questions and answers from the last Quiz night I ran, so that you could try it out with your friends and family this weekend too. Zoom is a great communication tool, not just for work but for the weekends as well. So, I thought I would remind you all too. The next day I caught myself reflecting and noticed that I was feeling like we had hung out with our friends, like we had caught up, and all of a sudden, my longing for my friends had lessened. Needless to say, we have been having quiz nights every weekend since.
But, at the end of the night, I found myself smiling ear to ear, having ended the Zoom I genuinely felt like I had just spent the evening with my mates. I spend most of my week on Zoom and wasn’t too keen on spending my Saturday night looking at a screen, having to be far more engaged in conversation than you would if those people were actually in front of you. About 3 weeks ago one of my friends got the dreaded close contact text and had to remain isolated for 14 days at home, so to help with the boredom, we bought the quiz night back. These were a prominent feature in 2020 and as Summer approached last year and Melbourne began to re-open, we very quickly put Zoom Quiz Nights as a thing of the past and moved on to real quiz nights at the local pub. However, my friends and I recently kickstarted our Zoom Quiz Nights again. I personally have been suffering from ‘Zoom fatigue’ lately as I continue to work from home and have every meeting virtually.
As we enter lockdown #423 in Melbourne, I thought it would be a timely reminder to my network the importance of staying connected.
